Мир такой красивый и такой замечательный

Hello! It was so fun to talk to you yesterday! You all looked and sounded really good. That was fun. Here's the weekly recap! Tuesday was fun. We were supposed to have a meeting with one of our investigators at the church building, but he didnt' show up. We went from there to a bus stop to pick up the Carters and the first counselor in the branch presidency to go to our main investigator, Victor. We went out to his really pretty dacha. We had the grand tour for the Carters who had never been before, then we had a really good lesson about faith. We read with him Alma 32 and talked about it. Elder Carter made a really good observation about faith. Victor, while he was showing us around, had told us that he had done a little work at a time on the dacha. That the project as a whole was just too hard to tackle all at once, so he did a little bit every day. After a period of time, he had a beautiful dacha! Elder Carter compared that with faith and how it's a huge task but we can take it step by step. That was good for Victor to hear and he seemed to really think about that analogy. Elder Carter rocks! Wednesday afternoon we went to Novgorod for splits and a zone training. that was about the whole day. We studied in the morning, packed up, paid the rent and we were off. Thursday we had double split action with the zone leaders and the Novgorod Elders. During the day there were some branch errands that had to be run (Elder Dibble is the second counselor in the branch presidency there, so even in Novgorod I can't get away from branch business). That night we went contacting and got to talk to some people. I also had sushi... it wasn't half bad. Friday we had our Zone Training. Mostly it was just about some new rules as far as area boundaries go and some discussion about how we can improve some of the aspects of our finding (English group, etc.). It wasn't all that exciting. That night was really fun, we got together with some members and threw the frisbee around in a park. There were a lot of people out walking and we invited many to play with us. Some of them did and it was really fun. None of them were too interested, but it was fun to just play with them. Saturday was good as well. We left at 8 to go back to Pskov, we had to sprint to make the bus on time. It was victory day so we weren't sure how everything was going to be. We had to meet up with a member and get some receipts from her, so we met up with her. We then went home, had some food, then studied. We went out for another hour before six because we wer not allowed to go out after six. I just wrote in my journal, read the scriptures, etc. I also made some banana bread. That was pretty good. Sunday we had church, I taught the second hour lesson. We didn't have any finances this week so we didn't have to go to the post office. We went to a sick member with the Carters and gave her the sacrament and a blessing. She's a really nice lady and she had a good attitude even though she was sick. We then went to the Carters and had dinner then talked with the fam! That's the week!

One of the things that really stuck out to me in the sixth chapter of the Teaching of Ezra Taft Benson book was the fact that we won't be able to understand HOW the Savior performed the Atonement, but it is very important to understand WHY He did. I got to thinking about that and realized that we don't know much of the details of a lot of major events of time. The fall, the creation, and some others we don't really understand how or in what way or details about them. But we do know why these things happened, and that's important for us now to understand. That was the thought of the week. Love ya all!

Victory Day!
